History of the Cherokee Rose Chapter

    Cherokee Rose Chapter - which is coined after the Georgia state flower. The chapter is affectionately called CRC and members are known as Cherokee Roses.

    The Cherokee Rose Chapter chartered on November 29, 2001 with 22 members, 21 were charter members.  Eleven members transferred from DeKalb Chapter and 11 were new members. Over 50 members and guests were present to welcome the new chapter. DeKalb County CEO Vernon Jones welcomed the chapter into the county. Our sponsoring chapter was the Georgia Pacific Chapter (now known as the Heart of Peachtree Chapter.) When we chartered, Mary Stuckey CPS/CAP served as the Georgia Pacific Chapter President, Carol O’Brien CPS was Georgia Division President and Christine Jackel was International President.

     CRC chartered as and continues to be an open chapter located in Tucker, Georgia, covering DeKalb County and surrounding areas.  When we chartered we were one of 13 chapters in Metro Atlanta, one of 24 chapters in the Georgia Division, one of over 150 chapters in the Southeast District and one of over 600 chapters worldwide.  The chapter continues to host educational and innovative monthly chapter meetings that are held on the third Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
